So you are looking for a new job and are lucky enough to get multiple offers, this is great news but now comes the hard part. Which job to choose?
Having multiple job offers is very positive and shows your skills and experience are in demand, however it is never easy to decide between job offers as they are likely to have unique pros and cons.
Going purely on your gut feeling is not the smartest method in choosing how you are going to spend the next 8+ hours each day. A lot more consideration needs to take place to avoid overlooking the most important factors.
Remember that having to pick between multiple job offers is a good problem to have so take time to enjoy this but at the same time ask yourself some of the following questions:
- The Company
What are the company’s core values and how do they fit with my own?
Will I thrive in a small, medium or large company? What are the pros and cons of each?
- The People
Who will I be working with and can I imagine working with them 5 days a week?
We’re the interviewers & potential co-workers friendly?
Which job is offering me the most money?
Which job has the highest earning potential?
How long will it take me to get to work each day?
What are the costs of the journey? How will this affect my income?
Am I going to be near shops and restaurants or in a business park?
- Career Progression
What are my long-term career goals?
Which job is going to let me hit these goals the quickest?
What incentives are most important to me?
Free gym membership?
Paid parental leave?
- Autonomy & Responsibility
Does this job align with what I am passionate about doing?
Will I be satisfied with the day to day tasks?
